Chapter TM6, Truth Marriages Reconstruction Presentations

Ignorance no more, explain that which has been hidden from the beginning

From the Natural Telepaths own version of the Gospels.

Finally, the combined group felt they had understood the "truth".  They had discussed this among themselves and decided that they "key" to this mystery was Lisa. They asked if they could see some interactions between Darth and Lisa alone. This they felt would be the "clincher", The thinking was that Lisa, being thirteen not even, was not capable of being as "inventive" or being an "actress" in the manner Sara and Helen might have been. Thus the interactions between Lisa and Darth would surely persuade the group one way or the other about whether what was being shown was "true life" in the sense of real-life, ordinary life, or "true life" in the sense of Jewish "heaven" or spiritual wondering (i.e. a way of life in the spirit).

Lisa was asked to decide what to recall. Helen gave her the advice, "recall the "happy" or special times with dad."

"True ones or hypothetical?", Lisa turned to Helen in the lecture theater.

"Ah", the two Rabbis at the front quickly objected, "that you alone decide. You are young, not really capable of telling real lies in the way adults can. If the adults among us can't work out the truth after this - then only the devil can" (this last line the Rabbi flowed in such a way it made it was an entertaining thought.)

"I understand", Lisa nodded and turned to Darth, "ready dad? And you don't block me please, I want to show what I want to show". Darth nodded and she began her recalls.

The imagery formed ever so strongly again.

The inside of their house and Darth walking into the lounge from the front entrance. He stops in the very large leisure room. Lisa is in the middle, she looking at the sea, and her body swaying and rocking. She has a smaller version of a particular style of modern dress that Helen often wears. Dark green, not that dark, and to her knees. Darth notices her MP3 player ear plug glued to her ear. He smiles, and because her cute small behind is swaying so well, he even think of making a wolf-whistle but can't manage. He walks to the kitchen.

Lisa must have heard finally because soon she rushes in. sits herself down on her knees on the chair, grabs an apple from the basket, "hi dad, what are you doing home?", she says as she unplugs her ears.

"What am I doing home?", Darth pours himself a glass of milk and muses, "what are you doing home and where is your mother?"

"I was sick", Lisa shrugs then rushes to him and whispers into his ear, "I have my period and was so sick this morning, cramps, mum told me to stay in bed...but then I went to the toilet and was happy."

Lisa rushed back to sit with her legs bent on the chair.

"Where is your mother?"

"Oh", Lisa explained, "she went to the shop...but that was ages ago."

Darth reached for his mobile. He noticed an SMS message, read it, glanced at his watch. He dialed Helen's number. "Hi, appointment cancelled?", he hears on the mobile without needing to explain who he was because Helen's mobile always told her before she answered who the caller was, "listen, I am stuck, had already waited for over an hour and was getting worried about Lisa and was about to grab a taxi. Car stalls immediately each time I start and try to reverse. Called NRMA, they said it might take four hours. I told them it never takes that long in Sydney. The rude woman told me this was not Sydney and they have so few calls from our area the NRMA car would have to come from (name). But if you are home, I might wander in the shops while I wait."

"All right but", Darth explained, "I got this urgent deal, just saw the SMS. Need to go back to (name). I will take Lisa with me, she seems perfectly happy."

Helen wanted Lisa on the mobile so Darth handed her phone.

"Yes, mum", Lisa said as she bit into the apple.

"I went to the toilet", Darth heard Lisa say, "and no problem...I feel fine...can I go with dad?"

In the next image Lisa with a school bag on her back is coming out of the house while Darth locks the door. They walk down the white steps, slightly curving, Lisa talking, "dad, in case you are wondering why I am taking my school knapsack..I have homework to do...and if I have to sit in someone's house for hours while you talk, I might as well do it."

In the next image the inside of the rather luxurious and spacious car. The drive along an ocean road with a lovely view of the ocean. Lisa is reaching into her knapsack and takes a piece of paper out and a pencil. She puts the pencil in her mouth, tosses the bag under her legs. "Dad", she says, "for Computing Studies we were asked to make a Truth Table...anyway we wanted...the idea to.spot an obvious lie. I have these questions. Ready?"

"Okay", Darth glanced at her and smiled.

"Dad", Lisa read out her question, "you were not born in Australia. I know that but here is the question. On the ship coming to Australia, were you sick at anytime?"

"Yes", Darth replied, "not seasick as I recall. The sea air I guess, with its salt content or moisture, had caused the wax in my ear to form this coil shape. It was painful. My mother took me to the ship's doctor. She turned my ear in all sorts of ways, causing much more pain that the wax inside. Then she pulled it out with something. That hurt. When I came out I was wondering if the cure was better than the problem, because my ear felt so sore and swollen. But that did not last and it was fine."

"Uhm", Lisa put a tip of her pencil to her mouth then ticked a square, "that is probably true. Next question. When did you first have proper sex."

"Pardon?", Darth turned to Lisa.

"Well", Lisa gulped, "this is mum's question...I designed this Truth Table then showed it to mum and Sara who were in the kitchen playing one of their favorite board games. Both took an interest, and asked me to include some questions. But you have to answer, you promised."

She looked at him with these lovely eyes. Darth could not recall that he had promised anything but he finally said, "at University."

"All right", Lisa ticked another box, "that is probably so...next question...who with?"

"Another of your mother's questions?", Darth asked.

"Aha", Lisa nodded.

"Anne", Darth replied.

"I know that is true, mum told me", Lisa ticked of another box on her page.

They had arrived on the outskirts of the major regional centre. A McDonald's coming into view caught Darth's eye.

"I am hungry. Your mother usually packs lunch for me but this morning we ran out of bread. Feel like some McDonald's?", he asked.

"Cool, sure", Lisa glanced then reached for her knapsack and put her page and pencil away.

In the next imagery Lisa and Darth across a table in McDonalds, munching away and drinking a milkshake through a straw.

"So why didn't you want to go to school?", Darth asked.

Lisa gulped, looked down, then looked up and shook her head in the negative.

"I don't think your mother bought that story, but she let you stay", Darth replied.

"What was wrong with my story dad?", Lisa asked after a while.

"Well, even though you have not had menstrual cycles for a year even", Darth said, "and your mum told me because she wanted my opinion about...a slight trickle of blood in the middle of your cycle...which is common in the early months...the thing is...menstrual cycle is called a cycle because it is regular...and you had yours, I could tell, your mother could tell, because of the nasty mood you were in about two weeks ago."

"Sometimes I hate having parents who are so smart", Lisa replied.

In the next image they are walking out of the McDonald's. Darth glances at his mobile, pauses, asks Lisa to tell him what the SMS message says as he does not have his glasses with him. She reads the message.

"Oops, my mistake. I read it as 1300 before and not 1400, which means we have come about an hour and half early...what do we do?", Darth puts his mobile in his shirt pocket.

"Can I go on the swing?", Lisa pointed to a set of swings outside an enclosure.

They walked to it. Lisa jumped on the swing. Darth sat on the long seat behind her.

"Dad", he heard Lisa flow, "this nasty girl at school told me yesterday you were too old to be my father."

"The one you hit on the nose?", Darth asked.

"No, not her, in fact, the teacher on playground duty one day who told me not to go near that girl, spoke to me one lunch time and I said I was sorry and even wanted to apologize. She said I could, and we found the girl, and I did. She was nice about. No, this is the one which...you know that large house near the first restaurant down the road? The one who lives there."

"What is she talking about", Darth replied, "I have seen her parents walking out of their house and they look twice my age. In fact, I and your mother were walking past that very house on our long walk and we at first thought the two were her grandparents, until we heard her say mum and dad."

"I know, I saw them at school once, I remembered, but I did not want to say anything", Lisa replied as she jumped of the swing and came to sit by him, sideways, "and that was yesterday and made me...sad...this morning I just did not want to go to school. Honest", she put her right palm as if making an oath.

The imagery faded. The lecture theater imagery returned.

Lisa seemed pleased, a beaming smile on her face.

The two Rabbis at the front, quite pleased or perhaps enchanted by the visions, asked if Lisa would mind showing some more.

"Sure", she nodded, "happy to."

The strong visions returned. Darth in bed, just lifting himself. Then an image of Lisa on the sofa pulling on white socks and saying loudly, "hurry up, dad, or I will be late."

Then Lisa and Darth in the car. She in a yellow top and a brief dark blue pleated skirt, clearly a sport's uniform. The car pulls into a net ball area. Lisa steps out, asks before closing the door, "are you coming to watch me or will I meet you in the usual place?"

"Not sure", Darth said, "you go, I can't remember what I had to do this morning."

Lisa closes the door and runs off to her team. While the imagery remains, all could hear Lisa's soft child-like flow providing an explanation, "morning is never dad's best time. Mum once said it takes dad's brain an hour to jump start. That Saturday morning he meant to do something in town but could not remember at first what it was. I could tell from the look on his face."

The imagery changed. Darth in his office. Helen and Lisa walk in. Darth at his computer turns to them. They sit down on the edge of the bed.

"Mum, you go, this is private", Lisa says. Helen shrugs and walks out and closes the door.

Darth moves to sit next to Lisa. She pulls up her top a touch, "this rash...I showed it to mum and she said I was to show it to you."

Darth touches the tiny lumps in a small area while explaining, "but I am not a proper doctor...just an expert in one aspect of medicine...a proper doctor would know quickly what that is...he would see patients with such often...my guess, a viral rash...any pain in the neck, stiffness, nausea?"

Lisa shook her head in the negative.

"If its still there on Monday, mum will take you to the doctor", Darth replied, "if it starts spreading, up or down, let me or mum know and maybe we will take you to the hospital if a doctor can't come to see you here."

"All right", Lisa pulls down the top and walks out.

The imagery changes to a beach. Darth sitting on a blanket. Lisa in a yellow bikini with Adam in black swimmers. Adam shifting with a plastic yellow toy shovel sand from one pile onto the other. Lisa near digging sand with her hands and piling it near Adam. Adam becomes concerned by a boy running past and yelling at another running ahead. Adam stands, then rushes to Darth, knocks him backward as he runs into him. Then Adam sits back, looks at Darth, and turns to Lisa. Lisa comes closer, gives him a hug, "its all right."

"He is not used to me you know", Darth said, "still sees me as a stranger."

"I know", Lisa is sitting down now holding Adam sitting between her legs, and she having taken the yellow shovel is holding that in one hand, "when we go to see dad (i.e. dad), and Adam likes the train ride to Sydney and dad is always there to pick us up...Adam just runs to him and dad picks him up. I wish dad was there more often when we were together."

Lisa suddenly tosses the yellow shovel into the sand, in a way that conveys much hidden anger.

"Life is not always beautiful", Darth says softly and turns his head aside.

"Oh", Lisa stands and walks to him and gives him a hug, "it is not actually your fault...it is my mothers...but I love her too much to feel anger toward her. Anyway, if my father did spend more time at home, this may never have happened."

"Never mind", Darth smiles, "I am sending you all back tomorrow."

"Rubbish", Lisa laughs, "I don't want to go back."

"Eh, your father is much younger then me", Darth replies, "you will be proud to walk with him in the street."

Lisa pushes him right back on the sand, presses both her hands into his neck, and says firmly, "dad, don't joke, say that again and I am going to bash you...I love you...and I am so happy to be your daughter." She rests against him only to be dragged away by Adam who wants to continue his game of piling the sand Lisa puts on one side to the other.

"Come on Lisa, let's do that again", Adam is pulling Lisa who is too heavy for him, so she is helping him to imagine he is strong enough and her other hand, and legs, are doing the work

The imagery changes. The kitchen, Darth and Helen and Lisa. Sara and Adam are in the leisure room and can be glimpsed through the door. Sara turning while holding Adam's hand, he most entertained. Lisa eating a sandwich, Darth and Helen talking to one another.

"Mum", Lisa says, "today..at the beach..I got so cross with dad...he, his joke but it hurt, told me my other father is the father I ought to be more proud of and want to be with...something like that...I told him I bash him if he says this again."

"And I believe her", Darth smiles, "she has a record that can prove her resolve."

"What does that mean dad?", Lisa asks.

Helen tries to mask an amused look and turns to the side.

"I get it!", Lisa stands and throws the last piece of her sandwich on the table, "that's not funny", she walks out.

Helen leans to Darth and whispers, "she is such a gentle delicate child...but now and then does she not have her moments!"

The imagery fades. Back to the setting in the lecture room. Lisa stands and with a happy flow explains. "Wait...I will show you something that was so serious to me, and confusing, but something I said that afternoon made me laugh so much that night when I understood what I said. Can I mum?"

Lisa flowed something private to Helen. Helen looked a touch embarrassed, and flowed with a touch of anxiety to the audience, "yes, she can, but I will include some of my recalls to put a few things in perspective...one recall a touch personal...the personal one I will dim so its not that visual."

The strong imagery returns. Lisa walks into Darth's office in her sport's uniform. "Dad", she says as she sits down on the edge o the bed. Darth turns. She pulls up her yellow top exposing her breasts. "I slipped and fell on a rock and hit my breast on a pebble...you check it and tell me if its all right."

Darth walks to her, pulls her yellow top down. "I am not a doctor. If it hurts on Monday, we will take you to see a doctor...that lady doctor so you are not embarrassed...and...and..if you did not have a bra on this morning, I would have noticed."

"I did", Lisa shrugged, "I went to have a shower when we returned and I noticed this swelling on my breast."

"Well, put some ice on it, or an ice-pack, you have your shower and I will get one and put it in the fridge for a while", Darth said.

In the next imagery Darth is coming to Helen who is sitting at a small white table on the balcony, a book in her lap, now and then she glances at the beach to see Sara and Adam.

Darth sits down and explains to Helen what Lisa did.

"Its confusing for her", Helen replied softly, "Sara understands, but with those medical books and models and images in your office..and that time a local doctor actually purchased that software and you went to install it for him, and Lisa had to come with you because I had a meeting with that local community group. After she told me quietly when you were asleep, and me and her playing the board game, that if she was to be asked who was the proper doctor from the way you both talked, she would have said you, not the doctor."

"Even so, she has to be made to understand", Darth said.

"Come here", Helen put the book down and took his hand and walked to their bedroom. She closed the four-part louvre door. She took of her top, bra, and sat on the bed. "You examine my breasts like you would if you were a doctor."

Darth sat down. "What will that prove? I am not a doctor."

"Just do it please", Helen said firmly.

Darth did. Helen asked as he did, "in a way you are lucky...I wish I could see Lisa's naked breasts, or Sara's, just to see how they have developed. What are Lisa's breasts like?"

"Small, but for a thirteen year old I guess about the right size for her age", Darth replied as his hand moved back and his head came closer as if to inspect a lump then his lips ever so gently slid over the nipple.

"Oh, that is so nice", Helen closed her eyes then pushed him back, "no, stop, that is not what a doctor would do."

"I should hope not", Darth replied, "and for a woman you age, our breasts are still so firm and soft and tender."

"I am not that old!", Helen turned away and began to put on her bra.

"I did not mean you were old, just for a woman your age", Darth replied.

"I am not that old!", Helen turned to him with an angry look, stood, and began to put on her top.

"Fine, sorry, will not say it like that again", Darth stood.

Helen walked to the kitchen. Darth following but paused because Lisa who had her shower and changed had slammed her door. She marched up the corridor, stood before Darth, her hands in a manner suggesting she was ready to pull up her white top. "Father", she said firmly, "I am not  happy", she shook her head, "you are qualified to examine my breast injury. If you are embarrassed, I can close my eyes."

Darth was stumped by what she said, trying to spin this around in his head. He noticed Helen had come closer to the kitchen door and was now standing with one hand covering her mouth and the other holding her stomach.

"I am not a doctor, sweetheart", Darth used a soft delicate but firm tone, and decided to try another angle, "and even if I was...many doctors consider it wrong and improper for doctors to examine members of their own family."

"Oh", Lisa suddenly seemed satisfied with this explanation, "all right, that I understand and am happy", she nodded and walked back to her bedroom.

Darth, musing at the remark Lisa had made, walked to Helen who was bending now, desperately trying not to burst out laughing. She pulled him inside the kitchen quickly, closed the door, sat down, holding her stomach, "how serious she was when she said she will close her eyes if you are embarrassed! I swear, the more I thought about it, the more I felt I would wet myself trying to control not bursting out laughing. I had to control it, she was so serious, and I swear my internal organs were ready to explode as the laughter inside kept building!"

The imagery faded. The setting of the lecture room returned. Lisa standing at the front with a cute smile and nodding, "that is actually pretty funny, but I was absolutely so serious when I said that."

The two Rabbis at the front, a smile on their face, turned to the audience. One asked, "so, is truth clear now?"

"Eh", a few men and women replied after looking at one another. One man flowed with a touch of amusement, "what are they like at lying? I don't know what to make of any of this in the sense of it is "True Life" or "Life in the Spirit" or an invented life."

Lisa turned to Helen and Lana. The two sitting next to one another, and both entertained. Helen with her hand on Lana's shoulder and saying, "it was not just what she said", Helen was trying to restrain laughter at the very memory, "it was her look, her stand, her hands ready to pull up her top at the moments notice, Lisa ever so serious and determined, and then she closed her eyes so tight for a moment and that is when I thought I would explode with uncontrolled laughter or my bladder would open up completely from the sheer and I mean sheer effort I was devoting to stopping myself bursting out laughing. These recalls don't do justice to the real situation...you had to be there to truly appreciate it. It is the sort of thing I might just talk about on her wedding day. It was a precious moment in time and her life."
