The information herein is for the genuine psychic or Life in the Spirit (as the term is used herein) member, the latter being telepathy type interactions among the Judeo-Christian religions and similar (i.e. mysticism, union of man and spirit). Life in the Spirit is a deeper experience of God. These pages contain a Novel with a number of themes. The themes put together reflective and contemplative steps. Not all persons will like a particular theme - choose the one you can "imagine". From our main page you may link to specific themes of interest and most religions are catered for. The themes explore paths which can be "mysteries" or "hypotheticals" and which have a high chance of bringing the genuine person "online" to our style of telepathy. From the moment you read this page, you are entering a world parts of which could be fact or fiction - or it could all be true.

Chapter 19 - Our Definition of "The Mind"

Is the definition herein of the mind only true of "Natural Telepaths?" Not a question we can answer. Common sense suggests this is true of all humanoids and perhaps some higher species of animal  life - but there is no way for us to prove this to our satisfaction. However, appreciating how this is put together, may give the new psychiatrist more scope in perhaps getting at the ID indirectly.

Imagine a lecture hall much as before but with a huge white board on which different views of the brain are shown, and other schematics, and Darth point with a stick to areas shown on the white board.

"Ladies and gentlemen," Darth began his presentation, "the humanoid species of life, and perhaps higher animal life, stop when a belief system forms. The brain is content with the belief system. A belief system is neuroscientifically represented as a darkish blue circle in the middle of the brain, like a horizontal slice across the brain. It is a magnetic-like field and very powerful - perhaps the most powerful faculty in the humanoid species. If the belief system is bothered, it taps the Ego asking something like "why do I believe this or that?" and the Ego can examine the neural networks in the brain and find an answer that 99% of the time will explain to the belief system why it believes something.

"A condition can arise when the D2-field which is the belief layer, is shifted from the centre aside. Like a finger poking through it, gently. When this happens, the overall internal structures of the brain combined with this field form a dome, a literal dome. It is not exactly a magnetic-like dome, or if it is we don't have the instruments to validate this. It is more like a vacuum. The mind is a far more complex faculty that the Ego, Id, or Superego. For example, the mind can work out what "truth" is in a situation. Consider a humanoid walking down the street. A labrador comes along and look angry and mean with froth coming from his mouth. The humanoid has never seen a dog with foam in his mouth, and his personal belief system says to him that labradors are the safest of animals and never hurt people. In response, the humanoid will not take precautionary measures and the dog now with a condition called rabies will bite the humanoid. But, a humanoid in whom the mind had developed, meaning the mind can form naturally, will in that situation form the mind which will quickly work out that in this situation the "truth" is that while he does not know what means or is, precautionary measures are advisable and of course are taken."

"The mind is about combining uncertainties and fears in a different way. The mind is about placating the belief system when too many uncertainties begin to surface. The technique it might use could be science, could be poetry, could be art, anything that can placate the belief system. Perhaps you recall a passage from the New Testament something like "look at the lilies of the field, not even Solomon in all his glory was arrayed like one of these". What does it mean? It depends to whom those words were spoken and what the uncertainties in the believers Jesus sensed, or discerned, and how he felt best to placate such. Perhaps his followers were starting to worry that Solomon, who was their hero perhaps, was not as smart as Jesus. So their belief system was turning away from Solomon as a hero and was fixing on Jesus. The mind simply confused the "little ones". It does not really matter what that means, as long as his believers "believed" this was true and correct comparison and applied in a given situation."

"When the mind forms, it discerns from all the forces it senses, including reason, feelings, Ego, Superego, even the ID to an extent, and considers which of these forces can be blended in such a way that the belief layer can be satisfied and rest in peace in its usual natural state. It is almost an automatic, not logical, function of the mind to "plug" the "leaks" in the belief system. The result is, perhaps, a sentence or a work of art or a painting - not important what the result is, as long as it plugs all the uncertainties that may have arisen."

"Medical science has studied people with Autism. Research has shown then an autistic person may be capable of solving a complex problem just like a non Autistic person, but deeper layers of the brain seem to trigger during thinking. That suggests to me it is in fact the mind that forms, it has to make up for a lack of the usual brain chemistry or whatever, during more complicated challenges which most of us solve not with our mind but with the natural intelligence of the brain. Of course, people with Autism can be extremely bright in a particular area - you may have seen a movie about two brothers one with Autism and the brother with Autism memorized every name in the telephone even backwards. Autistic people can have special skills, especially in mathematics. If it is the mind that is responsible, then indirectly we can work out much about how a mind works."

"It is possible, and likely I sense that the dome that is the mind can have small dents in the person who is mentally ill. In some such people the mind may form often especially when with you as a patient. If we could find some way to spot such dents, to sense their presence, these may be the thinnest patches of the wall and the quickest and simplest access to the ID."

"The mind also balances reality in a far more complex way than the brain. The humanoid whose belief system is perfectly natural, can see laws courts and police and the brain says these are the most dangerous of people to anyone - because their ideology and ideas of reference has to do with a fixation that court orders are like a divine force that must be obeyed - no matter how evil or wrong they are, or how seriously they affect others. Your natural humanoid brain sees this, knows it - but your mind will find a way to balance this by perhaps suggesting that well there are courts of appeal and the like so even if a legal decision is crazy and evil, senior courts will sort this out. Maybe they will, maybe they will not - the mind is about placating the belief system, not about improving the Superego or the like. The mind will find a way to "test the truth" of a matter, then present its opinion or conclusion to the belief system. It is a neat trick. The only comparison, or rather analogy, that I can think of is something like this: imagine this house with much land with many children. the children are quite lovely and well behaved and the parents have this medical condition which means they sleep always unless a child need something. In which case one or both parents awake, attend to the children, and when the children are satisfied the parents return to bed and sleep again. Such a parent might pick a frightened child "mum, there is a Russian bear outside", the parent might look and reply "not a problem, dear, we have such solid doors, the bear can not get inside." The child is satisfied. Notice that the parent did not check the doors, not  up to it, it is only to placate the child. If the child's reality principle wants to check this, the child may rush from door to door making sure it is locked. Now, the mind used "truth" not in the sense of absolute truth, but "truth" in the sense that "do you believe the doors are all locked and the Russian bear can not get inside?". A feedback mechanism between child and parent equated this to a positive response from the mind. If, once the parent returned to the bedroom, the Ego felt this was the belief system being placated but it may not be correct from its point of view, it would make sure the child runs around checking all the locks."

"It is the mind that sandwiches, in the first place, the belief system. Under the layer that is the belief system, there is something we can call as "simple truth" or "common sense", and above it is a "deeper truth" or "facts" or "truth". Each time the mind has to placate the belief system, it reinforces or strengthens that natural truth layer which is much like a D2-field in its own right."

"A rational society, in theory, would have two courts of appeal for any given decision. A higher and a senior court. What do I mean by that. If something is contrary to common sense, it ought to be immediately handed to a lower court that would bring it before the people, or jury. So, in the case I keep quoting the decision of the third magistrate in the Alzheimer's report "even the word of a pathological liar has to be accepted under this law." To a rational normal human, that is an insane thing to say, it is. Contradiction of truth at the lower common sense levels. Once you begin perverting society with decision like this you might end up with Islam and not even know that is what you have."

"About the only exception to that rule is when something like nationalism is involved. In such cases some decisions might not be in line with common sense, but they might be with national interest. However, it is only the highest court in the land that ideally should ever consider making a decision on that basis - and even then it would be preferrable to refrain and leave whatever mess that caused the deliberation, back to where it come from, usually probably from a political lobby group. A normal, rational, intelligent person, is simply never going to make a bizarre decision in law. A person who does not care one way or the other, a person who is covering a bride or covering a mate who may have made am mistake, such things, sure, these can sway a rational human being to err on the side of law instead of common sense."

"However, to suggest whether a mind is insane or not, is outside the scope of this field of psychiatry. How do we know that? The complexity of what the mind is and how it comes about, is truly daunting. Considering just a touch what the mind does, to placate the belief system, that is such an awesome task perhaps even the most powerful computers in the world with the most advanced programs could not work out how to do that. Something of such complexity can not be called insane unless it can be shown it leads to actions that most people would consider outrageous or crazy. So, a great many people perhaps might be able to form an opinion about the mind in a person, but individually as psychiatrists we simply are not in a position to do so."

"From my research, as far as I am concerned, perhaps this is a personal view or even a touch biased view, the people with the best minds in the world are Catholic Theologians. I have never actually met one from memory, but I have read quite a few articles in various magazines or journals, and I was always struck how intelligently an argument or point of view was presented. The actual point of view, as I recall, was not even my own view in my case, but I loved the way it was presented and explained."

"Ladies and gentlemen. I will show you an interaction from my memory between myself and Theo in a Catholic Faith Path. Theo is a Catholic Theologian party to the Catholic Faith Paths Way of Life. Perhaps three times a year those party to this Faith Path begin this deep reflection and contemplation which leads to a heightened state of awareness and begins a deep telepathy type experience. It is a deeply rewarding experience, a taste of a trandision of life. Anyway, the images small cartoon like, there is this strong sense of a cross of Jesus at the top and a sense on an infinite steps to get there, and this narrow like path with invisible steps, strong sunlight on one side. The images are small and cartoon-like. Theo is looking like a tiny image of a Catholic priest and I am in my Darth Vader like outfit. My flow deep, divine in a way, as I explain something to Theo. We will show this to you, using like a television - you can't get the true memory unless you are in a deep state of faith, so we map my memory onto a low-level telepathy channel. It went like this:

As they continued climbing through various steps, Theo decided he was weary and tired. He sat down on the black slope and in a section which represented a slope. Darth, by his side, turned, now inspired by the spirit turned to Theo and used a deep flow. "My friend. I am the Lord your God. I give you a message from Jesus, your Lord. To you, meaning this Catholic Faith Path and you personally also, he gives the mystery of the human brain. Your sharp minds will know when to assist the neuroscientists and when not to. Why is he giving this to you? Well, you have seen yourself as your mind began to expand, it acquired a life of its own, a consciousness. You imagined the thought "I AM" forming at the apex of your head. That is one way the brain's visual areas try to explain to the reason what is happening in the mind, so the brain imagined at the apex of its own self the thought I AM. The forces of life in you combined with the mind to produce a new you, an inner consciousness. This is now an active consciousness and not a passive one. You know the science of all this and undertstand how life forces rest in a will even when the body is dead. In your case, these life forces are now an embryo of a new life. Fine for you, but how many of your kind or Catholics or Christians would cope? Charles Darwin was very wrong with his theory of evolution simply because he did not understand the millions of forces of life that build around a female planet to spark natural evolution - but he was one of the greatest human scientists because he proposed a cohesive theory, no matter how wrong in absolute sense, which it is still all right to use as a simple comparison of what evolution is. The point is, almost all of humanity is still in an animal state of evolution. Those who are not, find a Life in the Spirit, and the others, the Natural Telepaths, are the true natural life of Earth and the planet itself looks after them in many ways. How many Catholics, Christians, ordinary people, would truly want to go to any heaven? It is their belief system, not their faith or the truth within, which makes them go to church or perform religious rituals. Fine, helps the soul, develops the mind, refines the soul and gives strength to the spirit to overcome upheveals in life, and builds ethics and morals. But now comes the true responsibility Jesus wants of you, in the same way the Farther charged the apostle Luke who was a physician. Are your people ready to touch the mystery of life at superior levels? Remember, your Lord said "he who has faith in me, he who believes in my name, he has a hope in my name, will not be put to shame". Follow this as your biding oath to your Lord - never put anyone to shame in that regard because their intellect is not like yours and neither is their natural capacity to understand - as you interact with the physicians new knowledge path. Are they ready? You must decide this. Too much divine revelation to the humanoid, and the humanoid becomes fixated with ideas of reference and ends up loosing focus and interest in life. Ask any psychiatrist how powerful ideas of reference on simple people can be. So, each in accordance with their capacity to understand."

In the imagery Theo had listened but became tired and fell asleep, his head on his arm. A small female figure, Lisa-1 (Darth's Catholic Wife of the Faith) appeared to come running from the right and put her hand around her husband's arm. A cute image, a clever cartoon image, the sort of image that can make you smile, in a white top and long red pleated skirt.

"Why are you so happy?" Darth asked and pointed to Theo, "my favourite apostle has fallen asleep."
