Life of No Escape

Chapter 2, The Villa

Natural life is born of its own on a female planet
But such life has no chance to advance on its own
Laws are needed to guide such a life
Such laws need to adapt to the life-form
And must be coordinated in a manner that allows the life-form
To strain on its own the reason for such a law
The moment the life-form begins to wonder about such a law
In a particular situation, the awakening of a higher consciousness begins.

How long would a Mafia interaction last? Uncertain. While the energy field generating the three dimensional close to ordinary life imagery was strong, there was much to do.

A villa had to be found that would be used as the main setting for the family. The immediate family, Darth and Maria and Adam and Louise. This required effort. At first Darth and Maria imagined shopping in a large department store. They walked about, Maria holding a baby in her arms. They had to select their furniture, from the bed to the lounges to the refrigerator. Ordinary life images of such objects, but such had to be seen by the eyes not just on cover of magazines, sufficed.  It would be Maria's will that would in the end form the correct imagery. The villa, on the other hand, had to be real - that is, one in which a person lived who in some way interacted with the Mafia Way of Life.

Louise and Adam had to also imagine being with their new parents. That required effort. They were both polite good children and focused in the way Maria explained they need to focus. It only took about half an hour before they could lock into the precise mental imagery that Darth and Maria wanted them to see in their thoughts.

In the strong, almost life-like imagery that developed, both Adam and Louise were dressed as you might imagine children in the eighteen century were dressed. The reason for this was not that clear - possibly, both Adam and Louise had watched parts of the second Godfather movie and the way the children were dressed in that movies, when it was showing aspects of the past, had left an impression on their young minds. It was not particularly important, in time the children would imagine ordinary life clothes in such settings or something they particularly enjoyed wearing.

In order to coordinate a number of key aspects of this way of life, of these sets of settings, the actions had to be reproduced much like in ordinary life. Thus Maria and Darth ordered the goods, paid for them, asked them to be delivered. They walked outside to a chocolate brown BMW, an open sport's sedan, and imagined stepping in - just like a family might coming back from shopping - and driving along winding Sicilian steep roads to a secluded and highly protected part of the Island. They stepped outside to study their large house. A white building, double storey, a long wide balcony on the upper floor.

"Father", Louise who was holding his hand turned to him, "when will the furniture truck arrive?"

"Soon", Darth smiled and glanced behind hoping to see the truck.

"What is he called, mum?", Adam asked Maria as he pointed to the baby.

"Angel for now", Maria smiled and they walked into the large house. They set about finding their rooms and checking out the layout of the place.

When Adam and Louise finished, they found their mother in the large living room on her knees and changing the baby on the floor. "Will not be long before I have a change table", she smiled at the two, "and you will be able to relax on a sofa."

"She stinks", Louise had sat right next to the baby, watched with much curiosity as her new mother changed her, and now covered her nose with her fingers.

"That's because", Maria folded the fresh nappy, "as you fix this mental image, you are also recalling your own sister when she was a baby, and you sat like this with your real-life mother, and watched her changing a nappy."

"That's true", Louise nodded, "but she did not do it on the floor. And she folded the nappy poorly and the pooh fell on the floor."

Adam had also sat near his new sister. He was studying Maria. "You are beautiful", he said after a while.

"Thank you", she leant and gave him a kiss on the forehead, "and you are ever so nice. Truth is, I know who you both are in ordinary life. Truth is, you will know me. I will use special words, which we will rehearse, so you may know me in ordinary life. But, that is a mystery, a secret, only you two will know, I only trust you both to know."

"Father", Louise stood and walked to Darth who had walked into the kitchen. "Tell me", she came to him, leant on the kitchen cabinet as he washed his hands in the sink, "why, in natural life, when I go to school, I am only allowed to play with some children, and not to go near others."

"Your father", Marie came over, Adam at her heels, she holding the baby, "this father", she motioned with her head, "does not know such things. He is not Mafia in the same way you are. In the spirit, in this way of life we have for the trusted ones, he is your father, yes, but he does not want to know much about our unique secrets. I know the reason, love, and I will explain to you later, in private, why that is."

A noise outside. The furniture truck arrived. The family walked outside then, mainly Maria, walked with the workers and told them where to set down the pieces of furniture. It took a long time, especially to secure the curtains Maria wanted, then the workers were paid and left.

The family stood outside, Louise and Adam waving the driver off.

"How can you tell if that was a Mafia delivery?", Maria turned to the children.

"I know", Adam shrugged but did not say anything more.

"Go on, please, Adam, explain, don't be shy", she said.

Adam took a step to Darth and put his hand to his ear. He pointed to Maria with one hand and whispered, "I am sure I know who she is...and the way she looks attracts interest from men...those two workers did not try to talk to her in that...that...way...just very business like."

Maria came closer, smiled. "Yes, love, that is one way. Very clever. But no", she shook her head, "at this point in time, you do not know who I am in ordinary life. I will let you find me, I will give you the hints and tips. Next time your family and friends gathers together, I will call you over. You will come. I will tell you the words I will use first. But listen".

Maria glanced at the furnishings then asked the children to follow her to the living room. The three sat down on the lounge. Maria said firmly, "dears..I am a more important mother than your mother in ordinary life...listen carefully now...if for some reason your mother in ordinary life...misbehaves...I can make sure she sleeps with the fishes. You will not cry should that happen."

Louise nodded but felt sad at this.

"Why must this be mother", Adam moved closer to Maria, "my mother in ordinary life", he leant and whispered his mother's name to Maria, "is all right and I love her."

"No, dear", Maria patted his hand, "you respect your mother and father in ordinary life, you do not love them. We do not love, we respect. Deep respect is as much love as love, but you must be focused from an early age what your relationship to your parents in ordinary life is."

Louise pointed to Maria as she said to Adam, "she is a big shot, my parents, and your parents, in ordinary life, are small fish."

"I am sure I know who you are", Adam nodded.

"You might be right", Maria smiled and stood and walked to the kitchen, "but do not assume this without a doubt until by word of mouth I reveal myself to you."

Maria handed the baby to Darth who was busy making sure all the furnishing in the kitchen had been coordinated in the way they would be in an ordinary house. Maria walked to the refrigerator, imagined taking food out to prepare. Adam and Louise sat down at the table in the large kitchen.

"Loves", Maria brought the vegetables to the table and put them down, "in ordinary life...once you know me...if I tell you to...do something...don't disobey me. You, young man", she glanced at Adam, "I know much about you...are often in trouble with your teacher. She tells you to, as punishment, sit down at home and write a certain sentence many many times. You ignore her. Your mother can't make, and your father can't. But I will", she leant closer to Adam, "if in ordinary life I tell you to do that, you better young man, else you will be in trouble with me. If I need to, I will enforce this teaching my way."

"Yes, mum", Adam replied as he glanced at his new father who, while holding the baby in one arm, also seemed busy looking under the cabinets and trying to work out why in the strong, ever so strong, virtual reality imagery they were using, the cabinets did not seem to align well.

Maria glanced at her husband. She walked to him, took the baby. She asked Adam and Louise to come upstairs and show her the rooms they selected. In Adam's room, as he bounced on the bed, she sat down and told her children, "you have been born into a Life of No Escape. You will never lack anything, money, authority, but there is no one you can share this with outside the family. You, Adam", she smiled at the boy, "in the garden, in your garden, when the family is together, I will call you. You come to me. We will talk. Don't hug me, or even smile much, just a simple talk. You will know when to come to me."

"I am positive I know who you are", Adam replied and put his hand, running his fingers through, that long black hair. "Because when I do this, I recall (he whispered a name into her ear) and that is what her hair felt like."

Maria did not confirm. Adam decide he knew already and rushed off downstairs. Darth was bending, looking under a cabinet. Adam squatted also, his eyes trying to work out what his father was doing. "Dad, I am sure I know who Maria is in ordinary life", he said, "and she ain't very old."

"Not important in our way of life how old she is", Darth replied as he caressed his hair with his hand, "age is meaningless...I see her as I want to, and sure she probably looks much like that, and she sees me as she wants to. Would not matter much if I was ninety and she twenty. I trust she is older than that."

"I think so", Adam replied as he recalled the woman he had in mind, "but I don't know her age", he shook his head.

"My age is not important", they turned to Maria standing at the door, holding their baby, and Louise close to her mother, "and don't you ever tell him that. That is secret I keep. A woman is sensitive about her age. You must respect women to survive in your life. Speaking of which, come into the living room both of you, Adam and Louise."

In the living room, sitting on a lounge, Maria explained. "Now, if, in ordinary life, your father, or mother, is angry, then go to your room. Never take sides. Stay in your room until the house is quiet. Understand?"

The two listened and nodded.

"Mafia is like a military", Maria continued, "there are leaders and there are soldiers. Do not get involved with the soldiers. They can be disgusting human beings. Learn whom to trust in your own family. Some are more trustworthy than others. Only with the person you trust, do you ever talk over concerns to do with your family. Always make sure it is the same man, or woman but women are less likely to want to get involved."

The two nodded.

Maria asked the children to wait. She walked upstairs to the room they allocated to be the baby's room, rested the sleeping child in a cot, then walked down to the lounge. She clapped her hands as she sat down, calling the children over. They came and sat on the light wooden floor before her.

"You are lovely children", she smiled, "God himself has you under His protection. The Mafia Way of Life is religious. Always attend church when asked. Listen to the ministry but do not confuse what you hear, with what others even in your own family might practise. As you grow older, you might learn of things that might trouble you."

"I think my dad has a mistress", Adam suddenly said.

"Ah", Maria turned to him, "you are a touch too young to know such things...but even if, not your business. Do you respect your mother?"

"Very much", Adam nodded.

"Maintain that respect, that is what you work on when you have a chance", she said and turned to Louise, "and you maintain respect for your father. Know his weaknesses, if you need to, blame the man, not your father."

Louise was not sure exactly what that meant but she felt the importance of the words and nodded.

Darth walked in. He sat down next to Maria who leant against him. Darth pointed to a painting on the wall. The children turned to look.

"What do you see?", he asked.

"Like two...two...apes...sort of", Louise said.

"Except apes don't walk upright", Adam pointed at the mental image, "and are much more hairy."

"That is the core of the natural life of this planet", Darth explained, "quite remarkeable really, considering the planet itself, while a female, is not near a powerful source of energy."

"Go to the bathroom, over there", Maria pointed to where the downstairs bathroom was, "one at a time...and look in a mirror...come back and tell me what you see."

The two stood and rushed off. Louise went in first, when she came out running to sit down again, Adam walked in.

"I saw myself, just a child, but dressed in an old-fashioned way", Louise said.

"Good", Maria leant, smiled, and caressed her daughter's hair, "you see yourself correctly. In truth, you are a human being but few people in the world are anything more than the images on that picture", Maria pointed to the painting. Louise turned and studied it carefully.

Adam came back and explained he only saw himself in the mirror. Maria explained much the same as she did to Louise.

Darth asked Adam and Louise to sit down next to Maria. He walked closer to the painting and pointed at the head of the creature. "A life-form like that, I can sense, reacts mainly by instinct. As the brain develops more, as a higher sense of morals and ethics begins to form, the instinct is pushed backed but that is just a delay action. Ultimately, it is the instinct that caused the drives in animal-humans. When I refer to animal-humans, but you please don't use that term, I speak of anyone not party to a Life in the Spirit, or a Way of Life, or the Natural Telepath psychics. About these groups you know a touch."

"Not much, love", Maria shook her head and smiled at Darth, "they don't need to know unless they want to know. You will go to our schools that Telepaths have. I am quite familiar with the Natural Telepaths."

"Are you one mum?", Louise was feeling most comfortable with Maria and sat down near her.

"No, perish the thought", she mused, "I am very competent psychic. I can spy into their world, but can not actively partake of it...until now...now that this man", she pointed to Darth, "is also my husband in this way of life, I can partake of their lifestyle. Both of you will learn to be Natural Telepaths. You will go to their schools. You will learn about many things. But, in the final analysis, you are both meant for your people. Does not matter", Maria shook her head, "who you people are or what they might have done. Even the worst criminals are visited by Priests and other religious. God is about forgiveness, compassion, natural justice in a way. No matter how evil a man or woman, no matter what they have done, each has a chance to reconcile themselves to God in the end."

Into the children's thoughts powerful magnetic-like fields. These seemed to stretch into infinity. The effect was so strong it was causing their focus to become disoriented. As this was taking place, Maria was flowing to them using a different telepathy channel. "That vision is Mafia security. No psychic passes that field, it drives psychics insane. Only a few Natural Telepaths can pass that, but they refrain from it too. Natural Telepaths are not a threat to the Mafia, in any case they can not be defeated across the telepathic plane."

"Are you punishing me for something, mum?", Adam's meek flow came across, "because this hurts, it is pain, this field in my head."

"No, love", Maria used her will so Adam could see himself with her, she holding him, "I am not...this is a soft effect, love...if I did punish you the psychic way, you would know it."

The magnetic field, having formed a "barrier of the mind", faded and the imagery of their villa returned.

Louise imagined a book in her hand and she pointed to some passages. "According to the Jews in the spirit....my father", she pointed at Darth, "had to bathe me, and Adam, so we are clean before him." Louise looked at Darth and closed the book.

"If you insist, but you are both old enough to bathe yourself", Darth replied, "and who told you that?"

"The man we know as a Rabbi", Louise explained.

"Mafia has some priests, and rabbis, all sorts, who step into our telepathy bands now and then", Maria explained, "we don't have many children among us, and priests and rabbis in the spirit are very good educators of children, and the children like interacting with their cartoon style imagery."

"So, can you wash me please?", Louise decided as she stood up.

"If you insist", Darth shrugged and the two headed for the bathroom.

"I prefer you to wash me, mum", Adam pointed to Maria.

"Me?", she pointed to herself, "won't you be embarrassed?"

"Yes, I will", Adam sat next to his new mother, "but I feel it is important you do this for me."

"All right", Maria stood up, "let's go to the upstairs bathroom."
